Over 500 Attendees At 1994 BEMS Meeting

Biological Effects of Nonionizing Electromagnetic Radiation [BENER] Digest Update, Volume 4, Number 2, 1994
The 16th Annual Meeting of the Bioelectromagnetics Society (BEMS) was held on 12-17 June 1994 in
Copenhagen, Denmark. More than 500 participants from 16 countries, including many Eastern European
countries and China, attended and presented over 200 posters and more than 150 platform presentations.
Session topics included radiofrequency and microwave dosimetry, theoretical extremely low-frequency
(ELF) interaction mechanisms, and medical applications of electric and magnetic fields. Mini-symposia were
held on bioelectromagnetics in medicine and epidemiological studies of power line fields in northern Europe.
In addition, a workshop was held on the safety of mobile communications.
