In this Russian language report, the author compared the clinical effectiveness of sinusoidally-modulated current (SMC) therapy, "fluctuating" current (FC) therapy, and "interference" current (IC) therapy in 150 patients with pre-stroke cerebrovascular pathologies. All the methods demonstrated similar therapeutic effectiveness. Significant improvement was achieved in 32%, 30%, and 28% of cases for SMC, FC, and IC respectively; moderate improvement was established in 56%, 64%, and 60%. SMC was more effective against tenderness and pains in miogenic trigger areas, decreased paresthesia, alleviated vegetative syndromes and decreased blood pressure in hypertensive patients. FC was the most effective against cephalgia and cardialgia, dizziness and sleep disorders. IC did not have any substantial advantages compared to 2 other methods. [BENER 13827]
