Alternating pulsed electromagnetic fields (EMFs) were applied in the picotesla (pT) range intensity to determine their effects on the cognitive functions of 4 fully medicated elderly men with Parkinson's disease (PD). In the drawings by patients with right hemispheric damage, visuospatial neglect is revealed by the omission of details on the side of the drawing contralateral to the hemispheric lesion. Subsequently, the patients received EMF treatments with an electromagnetic stimulator. The results suggested that treatment with pT EMFs may be useful as an adjunctive modality in improving cognitive and visuoperceptive and visuoconstructive functions in Parkinsonian patients.
