Two patients with posterior uveal melanomas in their left eyes underwent microwave cyclothermia just before enucleation. Under general anesthesia, a microwave waveguide applicator was placed into the conjunctiva at a position 1-2 mm posterior to the corneal scleral limbus. Microwave heating was used to preferentially damage the epithelial layers of human eye ciliary body with relative sparing of the conjunctiva, sclera and lens. [BENER 13294]
